Privacy Policy
Last Updated: [12/09/2026]
Harakah Clinic ("we", "I", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care, confidentiality and respect. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we keep it safe, and the rights you have. It applies to our website, our digital products, and our consultations and clinical services.
For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), Harakah Clinic is the data controller responsible for your personal information.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
Contact and account information, such as your name, email address, phone number and postal address.
Payment information, processed securely by our payment providers. We do not store your full card or bank details ourselves.
Usage data, such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited on our website.
Health and clinical information, where you book a consultation or join a programme. This may include your medical history, symptoms, medications, lifestyle, functional test results, and the notes and treatment plans we create for your care.
Special Category (Health) Data
Health information is treated as "special category data" under UK GDPR and is given the highest level of protection. We only collect it when you choose to share it with us for your care, and we process it on the basis of your explicit consent and for the purpose of providing you with health services. You are never obliged to share health information, but please note that some services cannot be delivered safely or effectively without it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, though this may mean we are unable to continue providing certain services.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and manage our services and your care, to prepare your personalised assessments, remedies and treatment plans, to process payments and bookings, to communicate with you about your appointments and orders, and, where you have opted in, to send you newsletters and updates. We also use anonymised usage data to improve our website and services. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time, and doing so will not affect communications relating to your care.
How We Keep Your Information Safe
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and access to your clinical records is strictly limited. Your health data is kept confidential and is never sold. That said, no method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so while we take every reasonable step to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your information only as long as necessary. Clinical records are retained in line with professional and legal guidance on health record retention, after which they are securely deleted. Other information is kept only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your data. We share it only where necessary to deliver your care or run our practice, for example with functional testing laboratories, dispensing or supplement suppliers who fulfil your order, and trusted service providers who help us operate (such as our website, booking, email and payment platforms). These providers only access what they need to perform their task and are bound to keep it confidential and secure. We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or where there is a serious risk to your safety or that of others.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or updated, to request its deletion, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to request a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, contact us at salaam@theharakahclinic.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to help our website function and to understand how it is used. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may not work properly as a result.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, so please review it periodically.
